Caption	Class Marshall, Noah J. Smith, Class of 2015, posted June 2015 on Flickr, Dartmouth 2015 Student Marshal Noah Joel Smith '15. Hometown: Pasadena, Calif. Majors: English and Studio Art, with a minor in French, Noah Smith finished his Dartmouth experience with two honors theses: one a critical/creative piece weaving his own story with that of New York Times book critic Anatole Broyard; and the other delving into the psychological experiences of Greek-affiliated black men on campus. Smith is in the Gamma Sigma Alpha National Academic Greek Honor Society, and is a William H. Scherman 1934 Endowed Scholar. He is also a Mellon Mays Fellow, which enabled him to conduct research in Paris, Aix-en-Provence, New York, and Los Angeles. Smith also conducted research as a Presidential Scholar; worked as arts editor of Dartmouth's Mouth Magazine; served as a member of Palaeopitus; and acted as director of Dartmouth on Purpose. His next step is a job in healthcare consulting in San Francisco. After that, he intends to pursue a graduate degree that, he says, could take the form of a PhD in English, an MFA in painting, a JD degree, or something else entirely. Favorite place on campus: Occom Pond. "Whether I'm taking a walk with friends, going on a run to Pine Park, or simply being one with myself, it's always been a place for reflection and meditation when I need it most."
